process
A first conversation
You send an enquiry and we talk for twenty minutes, at no charge. You're speaking to me — the same person who will later draw your plans and choose your finishes. We cover the room, what isn't working in it, the budget you have in mind, and whether working remotely genuinely suits this particular project. Where it doesn't, I'll say so rather than sell you a package.
What I need from you
A short set of questions: how the room is actually lived in, what's staying, what you'd be glad to lose, where the budget sits. With it comes a one-page sheet on taking dimensions — corners, ceiling heights, window reveals, socket positions — plus photographs from each wall. If a tape measure isn't your idea of a good afternoon, I'll come and take the dimensions myself.
The plan comes first
Your dimensions go into CAD and come back as a drawing at true scale, with two arrangements to compare and every piece sized as it really is. This settles the questions that cost money later: whether that sofa clears the doorway, whether the radiator ruins the only wall worth using, whether the honest answer is to move something rather than repaint it. Decoration waits until the drawing is agreed.
Character and materials
With the plan settled, the room gets its personality: a concept board, a schedule of paints, materials and finishes, the thinking behind any joinery, and the pieces that carry the whole thing. Two rounds of changes are built into the fee. This is the moment to tell me I've misread you — saying it here costs nothing, and saying it at the end costs a great deal.
Seeing it before you spend The Full Picture
Two photoreal views of the finished room and a 3D walkthrough you can move around in, with one round of adjustments — all before a single order is placed. For most people this is the point where a scheme stops being a proposal on a screen and becomes a decision they're comfortable making.
The pack, and what happens after
One document holds everything: drawings, scheme, visuals, and a sourcing list with live links showing my trade price beside retail. There's a note on sequence too, so nothing gets fitted before the thing that has to go behind it. I stay reachable by email through your support window, for the questions that only surface once the work actually starts.

Questions worth asking
Do I have to buy everything on the sourcing list?
Not at all. The list is a specification, not an obligation. Substitute whatever you like — and if you tell me what you've substituted, I'll tell you honestly whether it still sits well with the rest.
What if the design isn't going the way I hoped?
You'll see it early and I'll ask you directly. The drawing is agreed before the scheme begins and the scheme is agreed before anything is visualised, so there's no single unveiling at the end that either works or doesn't.
What if my measuring isn't accurate?
The sheet is more forgiving than you'd expect, and I check anything that looks wrong before I start drawing. If you'd rather skip it altogether, I'll come and take the dimensions myself.
What does the fee not cover?
Furniture, fittings, materials, delivery, trades, and any structural, planning or building control work. The fee buys the design and the drawings, not the contents of the room.
How does the trade pricing work?
Where I hold an account with a supplier, you pay what I pay. It goes to you in full, and it's shown beside the retail figure on your list so the difference is visible rather than implied.
Is there VAT on top?
No. The studio isn't VAT registered, so the figure quoted is the figure you pay.
How does payment work?
Half secures your place in the diary, half falls due before the final pack is released.
Can I move up a package partway through?
Yes, at any stage, for the difference between the two fees.
